The heart and the Storm

If only I'd known
I had a storm brewing within me
I wouldn’t have worn
My heart upon my sleeves
For daws to peck at.

Oblivious, I enjoy the rain
The droplets, the drizzle
And the zephyr.

Unfortunately, the breeze ridiculed,
The drizzle mocked
Crippling my heart
Letting loose the storm
Uprooting us, the involved.
